Oatmeal Rum Ginger

1 cup (2 sticks) butter

1-1/4 cups packed Golden Brown Sugar                                      

1/2 cup White sugar                                                                    

Infusing Direction

In a large Tupperware type bowl place 4-6 shots of  Dark Rum. Place a vegetable steamer inside the bowl making sure the Rum is below the surface of the steamer.

Next stack the baked cookies on the vegetable steamer and seal for at least 24 hours. The alcohol will infuse it's flavor as well as it's punch  into the cookies. (this variety is for adults only)

It works best if you allow the cookies to dry out a little first.


2 Eggs                                                                                       

1-1/2 tsp. Good Vanilla                                                               

1-1/2 cups Flour                                                                         

1 tsp. Baking Soda                                                                      

3 cups Original Quaker Oats                                                        

1-2 cups of Candied Ginger

Crumbled Pecans to taste


Cream Butter & Sugar

Combine Flour, Soda and add to mix

Stir in Oats then add Candied Ginger and Pecans

Lump on ungreased cookie sheet with large soup spoon

and bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes or until the tips are just starting

to become golden.
